An OT visits your home to identify your strengths and difficulties in completing daily tasks including self care, domestic, hobbies/interests and in the community community. Our assessments are comprehensive and also cover communication, social skills, literacy and financial management. We problem solve with you ways to maximise your independence and achieve your goals.
Alongside a ADL assessment, the OT may be requested by family, support workers or the NDIS to complete more intensive assessment and recommendations around your accommodation, support needs and type of housing you currently, may want to live in or need.
From long handled sponges to wheelchairs that stand you up. We problem solve your difficulties and find solutions to maximise your independence. Recommendations also iinclude support around manual handling and pressure management.
From grab rails to full bathroom modifications or disability ramps. We liaise with builders and handymen to assist you to design, obtain funding and implement modifications to your home to maximise your independence and safety of those providing your support.
With a special interest in the sensory system and its impact on day to day functioning, we can complete a sensory assessment with you. Your sensory system is amazing and is constantly changing due to neuroplasticity and "habituation". We can help you access materials, program and information to improve your day to day functioning! This is so important, whether. you have a formal diagnosis such as ASD, ADHD, Anxiety, Schizophrenia, complex trauma and PTSD known to affect sensory processing or no diagnosis, we can help.
